The station was built in 1906 and formed part of the Woodside and South Croydon Joint Railway. In fact, some parts of the Hejaz Railway are still functioning, such as the line from Amman, in Jordan, to Damascus, in Syria. Some have had all their track and sleepers removed, and others have material remaining from the former use. Such lines may be disused railways, closed railways, former railway lines, even derelict railway lines. For the past two years, Grigg, a transit enthusiast, has been building an interactive atlas of abandoned railroads.
