In 2010, Bhutan became the first country in the world to ban the production and sales of tobacco products. The dragon appears on the Bhutanese flag. Smoking in public areas is illegal, however, tobacco can be used in private. Mount Jomolhari, straddles the border between Bhutan and Tibet, is sometimes known as the “Bride of Kangchenjunga” and is famous for its northern face which juts abruptly from the highlands with a vertical relief of 2700m (9000 feet). Druk Yul — the local name for Bhutan — means "Land of the Thunder Dragon."
