I think quizá is bad written, in spanish, depends on the region, some people dont pronounce the S sound at the end of words, so I think if you want to write it quizás is the correct way| There's no difference. The RAE (Real Academia Española) prefers that we only say the first one, but the truth is that "quizás" is more common, I would say.

"Quizá" goes before words that begin with a consonant and "quizás" goes before words that begin with a vowel. Quizás appeared around 16th century.

They have both been used indifferently both formally and informally for the last two centuries, though.
