When you are swimming, you are working mostly your lower body,including your guts, hamstrings, calves and quadriceps.

On the other hand, my friend is a very good swimmer and would gladly coach me.
Swimming vs Running.

Swimming vs. lifting?

I live on a college campus where people rarely take the time to re-rack their weights and generally hog a lot of the space near the free weights so that they can do "bro-curls" and stare at themselves. Cardio generally does not promote much muscle growth but there is a little growth depending on the sport. When you swim, you get a full-body workout that is easier on your joints than running. Wondering if joint issues are more a result of improper alignment than the impact of running. A friend is begging me to go swimming with him. I don't know much about swimming.
